SLC Federation vision – to be a community of confident, creative learners thriving together in a rich, inclusive environment that raises the aspirations of each unique child.

SLC Federation values – Honesty, Creativity, Inclusion, Confidence and Respect.

It gives me great pleasure and a sense of satisfaction working with practitioners to design a broad and balanced curriculum that offers a wide range of exciting learning opportunities for children of all abilities. Our vision, values and passion for a holistic education is shared across the Federation and we pride ourselves on our creative curriculum.

I believe children learn best when they are actively engaged, learning in an appropriate and rich environment – whether that is in the hall, classroom, playground or woodland. Both schools in the Federation hold a Gold Award for Learning Outside the Classroom. Our delivery of the National Curriculum through Confident Creative Learning (CCL – please see our policy for more detail) sessions and discrete lessons is unique and exciting.

We empower children to take ownership of their learning, developing confidence, creativity and resilience through choice and a wide range of focused and independent activities.

Our whole school community works hard both in our individual schools and across the Federation. I am privileged to have the position of Headship of Scapegoat Hill and Linthwaite Clough Federation, working alongside experienced Senior and Wider Leadership Teams to lead practitioners with a passion for learning and a shared vision for the future.

We understand the trust placed on us every day as you leave your children in our care. As such outstanding pastoral care and safeguarding are paramount. Children need to feel happy and safe in order to learn and be the best they can be. We consider the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of children to be a priority.

Why not give us a call and find out more; we look forward to meeting you soon.
