SCHOOL UNIFORM policy for Parents LC

School clothing

We have a school uniform (which is not compulsory), comprising red sweatshirts/T-shirts/polo shirts with the school emblem. This can be bought and ordered from Bridge Schoolwear, 4-6 Scar Lane, Milnsbridge, HD3 4PE (opposite Aldi), or Natasha’s, Buxton Way, Huddersfield.

For PE and hall work each child requires a white T-shirt and black/navy shorts or a leotard, and for outdoor games trainers and a tracksuit are needed.  These should be kept in a labelled pump-bag (not a sports bag) and taken home at least every half term for your inspection. Older children may be also asked to bring swimming and additional sports equipment when necessary.

In cases of bad weather when children wear wellington boots, they should bring indoor shoes to change into, and a named peg. An apron or old shirt is useful for art and craftwork.

All clothing should be clearly labelled with the child’s name.

Where children have pierced ears only studs will be allowed. Wearing a watch helps children to tell the time, and we recognise the advantages. However, if your child does wear a watch, it is the child’s responsibility and we cannot guarantee its safety. Children are encouraged to hand it to the class teacher for swimming and PE.

We have strong links with ‘The uniform Exchange, an organisation that can supply uniform for free. They will also support hats, coats, scarves, shoes and boots on request to families that meet their criteria. Please contact school for more details or:
